Meet Your PT

Dr. Martin Bui PT DPT

Hi, I’m Dr. Martin Bui. I was born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada “EH”. I found my passion for physical therapy and human movement early in high school, where I had my own injuries from rugby and volleyball. I knew how hard it was to be watching from the sidelines, and by becoming a PT I would be able to help people like me return to their sport. This sparked my interest in human movement, and resulted in my enrollment at York University’s Kinesiology program (somewhere close to Toronto). I went on to receive my clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York in 2015.

I strongly believe that there is both art and science to physical therapy. The science part  is all the technical  anatomy, biomechanics, and treatment  tools I use to treat my clients. The art part is the unique person in front of you, with many goals and aspirations. A true clinician is able to blend the best of both these worlds, and this is what I strive too every day in my practice, By exploring both the art and science of physical therapy I help my clients holistically to move and feel better.

Prior to CrossFit I would go to the gym (have my bench, back, biceps/triceps and legs routine) and make occasional  competitive volleyball appearances a couple weekends a month. I had a good base of fitness knowledge, but lacked the internal motivation and direction for self improvement. That’s when I found CrossFit. Athletics has always been part of my life, and CrossFit looked like chiseled men and women doing athletic things (I wanted to look and do that!). I was quickly humbled by the skills, strength and cardio capacity needed to be good at CrossFit. There was no bench press and sitting around for 3-5 minutes here. Sure a basic level of fitness could get you so far, but being efficient and working on my own movement deficiencies, that’s what got me drinking the kool-aid. But what I love most is that every individual who walks into a CrossFit gym has a similar story, a common goal to seek self improvement through fitness, and this community will support that. I understand how intense and strenuous each WOD can be, and want to help you identify the source of your pain or  movement dysfunction to achieve your fitness goals. We live by the motto “Live to lift another day”

Dr. Skye Harry PT DPT

Hi, I’m Dr. Skye Harry. I’m originally from a small town in rural Pennsylvania. I was a competitive gymnast for 11 years until injuries ultimately forced me to retire. I moved across the country for a new adventure, and attended Arizona State University graduating with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. At ASU I became bored with my typical exercise routine consisting of treadmills, machines, and working out by myself. In 2013 I found CrossFit.

I was drawn to the sport for the constant challenge, personal growth, and supportive community. It filled my needs as an ex-gymnast to keep up with things like handstands and pullups. After college I went to grad school at the University of Southern California and earned my clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While in school I continued training at different CrossFit gyms and learned how each is unique.

Through my experiences I have become passionate about helping Crossfitters of all levels. I understand how intimidating it is to walk into your first class, use only a PVC pipe, have no idea what the movements are, and still feel like you are dying during the WOD. For those of you who are more experienced, I have also participated in several local competitions. I understand your frustrations with nagging aches and pains that come up from pushing yourself to the limit during competition training.

I also have a passion for helping moms to feel like themselves again. I do functional pelvic floor training to decrease incontinence with things like double unders, lifting heavy, and running. I help post partum women with core strengthening and return to gymnastics and weightlifting. I also can help with modifications to continue training through pregnancy.

My goal is to create a specific plan and guide you through your healing process using hands-on treatments and corrective exercise prescriptions. As pain is decreased, I provide movement coaching to help you reach your ultimate goals. Goals could be losing weight, improving efficiency for competition, or even maintenance work so you can have an active lifestyle with your gym buddies for many years to come.

We can help you "Live to Lift Another Day!"
